A Sweet and Clean Western Historical Romance about Mail-Order Brides set in Montana.

Emma Byrne grew up in a Catholic orphanage in Boston, and her prospects are limited. She and her group of girlfriends, who all met in the orphanage, are barely getting by, working as nannies, cooks, and live-in maids for rich families. When Emma's employer, Gerald, threatens her with losing her job if she doesn't submit to his very unwanted advances, she stumbles onto an opportunity to be a mail-order bride and decides that couldn't possibly be worse.

Except that the groom in question had no idea that his brother sent for a wife. When Emma shows up, at the train station in Bozeman, MT, it's her groom's brother, Joshua that is there to greet her. As it turns out, Ethan is furious that his brother went behind his back and sent for a wife. He's still grieving from the unexpected death of his wife Allison only a year earlier, and spends all his time when he's not working, being a good dad to his only child, Emily, who is three.

Montana is hugely different from Boston, and Emma is surprised that she immediately falls in love with the area. Though taken aback at first to discover that Ethan wasn't aware that she was coming, she's secretly relieved to have a little time to get to know him and her new home. She is also quite fascinated by his family. Ethan is the oldest of ten, and has eight brothers, and except for Joshua, all are single. Emma has an urge to play matchmaker, and in book two, her best friend, Julia comes West to meet the brothers.

I love mail order bride books and I love how she gave a twist with him not even knowing about her. I love that she made a way for more books with her friends and in - laws. I will be a reader of hers for life also it was clean and I will be more than willing to let my daughter read this! Great job!!

MAIL ORDER BRIDES CLUB
By First Lady 3
EMMA WAS RAISED IN A ORPHANAGE AND AT 18 was sent out to work and ended up working IN A RICH BOSTON HOUSEHOLD AS ASST. COOK,ETC. She loved her job. The employer was pregnant and her spouse wanted to take advantage of EMMA. She was having none of that and applied to become a mail order bride in Montana and left Boston for Montana. She married a widower with a small daughter. Ethan was from an Irish family with 8 brothers. His family fell in love with EMMA but Ethan was hesitate because he was still in love with his deceased wife who died in childbirth. After many ups and downs, they finally fell in love and was on the way to have more children. A GREAT READ w/o all the sex.

could be a good story... if... *sigh*
By Karijntje
I think it's got potential however; every time I read a book where it's suppose to be historical and there are loads of anachronisms; just really frustrates me as a reader!
First off { dialogue } please don't use 20-21st century dialogue in a 19th century story. Second, research your environment please! Men didn't wear shorts and kids did not have pajamas.
Oh and food? Sorry but unless you are a sous chef most Montana farm/ranch families, of the time period, wouldn't have a clue about sautéed anything let alone have the ingredients. Pie, gravy, cornbread, beans and pork yes. Chowder in Montana? Oyster crackers? I think the first crackers where invented around 1910.

And social expressions and reactions were far to personal and too modern for me to enjoy a story " supposed" to be in 19th century pioneering America.
This story, like I said, could have potential. Either change the date (pull it up to a more believable era) or research your history and edit or find a good editor and researcher.
