Good overview - but not for finals preparation

Before you buy this book, note its brevity and adjust your expectations accordingly. It covers the entirety of antitrust law in ~200 pages, and the discussion thus necessarily carries on at a high level of generality.

I bought this book to get a broad overview of US antitrust law in a brief space, and it served me quite well for that purpose. It is a good tool understand where each doctrine that you would study in a semester falls within the broader antitrust doctrine. It is written in clear prose and flows very easily. There is adequate discussion of some of the landmark cases, but the facts and the reasoning in those cases are not explored in much detail.

I would think that this book would be good to read before the semester began, or during the second half of the semester when you are somewhat familiar with the cases being discussed. But if you are looking for help in the days before finals I would advise you to look elsewhere.

And I have to express my disappointment that the publisher only lets you see the table of contents and part of the preface before you have to decide whether to buy the book. I would have liked to see the treatment of at least one complete subject before shelling out $50.

I registered for antitrust thinking it would be one of my favorite classes. Come to find out, antitrust has a well-deserved reputation as the most boring class in law school. Antitrust is boring because there is very little doctrine, and every cause boils down to economic analysis. However, this book at least summarizes and clarifies the standard economic arguments that come up in antitrust cases. It also does a good job of distinguishing the cases that are no longer authoritative from those that are. Overall, this book is a helpful tool if, like me, you find antitrust to be a disorganized mess in need of some structure.

Da quel momento, in ogni possibile occasione, i miei innumerevoli soldati pronti a combattere fino alla morte senza paura e senza paga, data la loro qualità di fogli da lire dieci stampati in fronte/retro, sono comparsi sulle soglie delle case del potere per esplodere nelle mani dei costernati destinatari che, attraverso l'ineluttabilità del messaggio implicito nell'esercizio delle loro vite, ne hanno portato il contenuto fino ai mezzi di diffusione delle idee, i quali, negli infiniti linguaggi del silenzio, lo hanno poi portato in tutto il mondo.
L'effetto, immediato e stupendo, è stato che, mentre i 'maghi' della politica e dell'informazione nazionale ed internazionale boccheggiano e si dimenano come pesci che ancora non si siano accorti che non c'è più l'acqua, è iniziata irreversibilmente la fine della politica degli armamenti, del gonfiaggio del dollaro, della nuclearizzazione delle centrali, della proliferazione infinita e incontrollabile delle automobili e, più in generale, delle pseudoculture finalizzate a subordinare l'uomo all'industrializzazione anziché l'industrializzazione all'uomo; benché il potere, in un gioco eterno, e del resto indispensabile allo sviluppo, già si adoperi frenetico per escogitare un nuovo e più mediato livello di fraudolenza.

This is a terrific overview of German cinema. It is thorough and well-researched. It will probably need an updated edition, as all film history books do, if they seek to be current.

This book has so many mistakes in it that I am more frustrated as I read more and more of the book for my class. 12th edition? Please. I am so appreciative, Kenneth Laudon. You are stealing from consumers with this book. I expect a lot more from a book that claims to have this many editions. Get your act together. This is disrespectful.

Best book in E-Commerce!

Short case studies are very informative.

I have used this book for a college course, called Global E-Commerce. In addition to these topics, I added success stories on Alibaba, Flipkart, Rakuten, taking this to the international level. My students love this course. I recommend this book to everyone.

Do not disturb

A new release of a book from Natasha Knight equals to a ' do not disturb' sign reading it.
I rather like the the Alpha male Wolves that shift into stern dominant men. Protectective men and yet sensitive men. Natasha Knight knows her shapeshifting stories, remember Taken by the Beast? Well, Claimed by the Beast is even more action packed and even more firm action and discipline(!) is needed.
We meet Kayla and Elijah again from the first book. We see how their relationship has matured, it's not just spanking anymore... We meet a mad scientist that is trying to find a cure for Parkinsons disease but instead he turns into a shapeshifting monster. And kidnaps Rachel. Our hero Marcus comes to Rachels rescue of course, but that doesn't wrap up the story. No cherie! This long story continues with hot spanking scenes and a little more then just spanking. Natasha Knight, I think one of the best writers in Domestic Discipline, has written an even hotter book than Taken by the Beast, if that is possible. You don't have to read Taken first to read Claimed by the Beast, it's completely standalone story, but you would be doing yourself a favor.

So many deliciously hot scenes!

I loved Taken by the Beast and was looking forward to the sequel and this did not disappoint. Claimed by the Beast was just as good as the first one. I enjoyed that this book started with Elijah and Kayla. I loved their dynamic and it brought back all those yummy feelings reading their discipline session that Elijah had to give Kayla because of Rachel. Elijah is stern and demanding, whereas Marcus ever the disciplinarian like his brother seems more gentle, offering choices. Not that Rachel sees them as choices, I am sure. "You can, in the next few moments, take down your jeans and panties, lay across my lap yourself.... or you can fight me, have me take down your jeans and panties, have me lay you across my lap, then take your punishment, which would be more severe. Which do you choose?" Not a good choice in her point of view.

There is a corner scene in this book that is to die for. Absolutely so hot, it leaves you shaking.

This book was so amazing! There were so many delicious scenes and they seemed to be one right after the other. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you won't be sorry.

I just finished Claimed by the Beast and let me just tell you, it is HOT STUFF. Exactly my cup of tea. I love paranormal because it allows spanking in contemporary setting without raising all the usual questions of consent. And shifters are sexy. I loved getting Elijah and Kayla's DD life (and their new baby) and Marcus and Rachel had their share of sultry punishment, too. The action-packed plot was full of suspense and thrills an the bad guy had his own hero's arc as well!

Another Favorite

I could hardly put this book down. It is set in Scotland, a land about which I love to read. There is a murder mystery woven into the plot, another favorite of mine. And to top it off, there is Scottish history. Though the book is set in modern times, the characters have ties to the ancient Picts. I loved it! Be sure you read her first book, The Pictorial Adventure, to set the stage for this one.

About the Author

Ivan Nikolayevich Logachev holds a doctorate in engineering and is a professor and academician at the Russian Academy ofNatural Sciences, Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Kharkiv Engineering-Building Institute in 1962, with a specialization in heat and ventilation. For more than 30 years he worked in the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Safety and Environment in the Mining and Metallurgical Industry (Krivoy Rog), where he was promoted from research assistant to the head of the laboratory of industrial ventilation. Dr. I. Logachev is the author of more than 300 scientific papers, more than 50 inventions, and several monographs.

Konstantin Ivanovich Logachev holds a doctorate in engineering and is a professor at Belgorod State Technological University, Belgorod, Russia, where he has been working since 1995. He graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk State University in 1992, with a specialization in "hydroaerodynamics." Dr. K. Logachev has authored more than 150 scientific publications.

Olga Aleksandrovna Averkova received a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree from the Belgorod State Technological University, Belgorod, Russia in 2004, and is currently an associate professor at the university. She has authored more than 100 scientific publications.
