Grade 5-9-- Jade and Deena find typical adolescent amusement in harmless crank calls until Deena's half-brother, Chuck, joining them, overhears a murder being committed. The three teenagers' bravado in seeking out the crime scene leads them into grave danger. This is a good thriller-type mystery in the style of Edith Maxwell's Just Dial a Number (Archway, 1988), but is limited by the stilted dialogue of the adult characters and an unconvincing, overwrought portrayal of the killer. The dominant theme, which could have been excellent, is undermined by inappropriate melodramatic scenes. However, high-traffic murder-mystery sections in young adult departments would not be downgraded by adding this title .

To Deena and her best friend, Jade, making sexy and innocent phone calls to the boys from school was their idea of fun. But Deena's half brother, Chuck, decides to take the game one step further: making dangerous threats to those who answer their phones. That's when he calls the wrong number on Fear Street, a number where the gruesome murder took place. Now, the person knows who they are and where they live, but could all three of them call for help? There's nowhere to go when murder is on the line.
With great suspense and wonderfully written, "The Wrong Number" will have you gripping on the edge of your seat! A book that you will not put down until it's read from cover to cover.
I love reading the Fear Street books, and I'm 22 years old. Hey, I know you're laughing at me! I bet you there are people my age or older who read R.L. Stine.

Great read!!

One night, Deena Mertinson and her best friend Jade Smith start making prank calls to people from their high school. Whether it's the school's biggest nerd or the most popular guy, Deena and Jade have fun calling and teasing them. Now Chuck, Deena's half brother is coming to stay with them in Shadyside because he got into a lot of trouble in Central City (where he lived before). At first, he is totally rude to Deena and her dad, and also starts causing trouble at his new school. One night, he discovers Deena and Jade making prank calls to some students, and blackmails to let him in on their game. Deena gets scared when Chuck starts making threats in his calls. In fact, things become worse when, one day, to prove a point, Chuck calls a random number and they all hear a woman about to be murdered! From this point on, the story turns into a murder mystery, where Deena, Jade and Chuck have to find out who the killer is, and which one of them is going to be his next victim!

Author R. L. Stine has he nicely put all the right elements to make this a good murder mystery book, containing moments of horror and suspense throughout. Once you start reading this book, you will find yourself turning the pages to see what happens next, and won't be able to put the book down at all. As the story progresses, you will find yourself at the edge of your seat, anxiously figuring out as to whether everything will be ok in the end or not.

This is one of the best Fear Street books that the author has written, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes reading horror/mystery books.

A Great Book!

Deena has a new phone so she and her best friend use the phone to make prank phone calls. But Chuck finds out that Deena and Jade are making phone calls. He insists that they let him join or else he'll tell. So Deena and Jade let him join. Then Chuck calls a house on Fear Street and interrupts a murder. Deena, Jade and Chuck go to the address to help the woman screaming. But it's too late because the woman is already is dead. A masked man chases the three warning them to mind their own business. One day after, the police drag Chuck to jail, now that everyone at Shadyside knows that Deena, Jade and Chuck are the ones behind the prank phone calls. The police say that someone saw Deena, Jade and Chuck that night. It was Mr. Farberson. Deena and Jade know that Farberson is wrong so they decide to find out more about him. Methylenediphenyl diisocyanate[MDI] and toluene diisocyanate [TDI] are chemicals produced at a total rate of about four million tonnes per annum. They are reactive intermediates employed in the production of polyurethanes and other polymers which are used in a wide diversity of applications involving many thousands of workers worldwide.

The safe handling of MDI and TDI requires close attention to working practices in their transportation, storage, use and disposal. This book focuses on handling aspects, but also includes reviews of medical and environmental issues. There is detailed information on the properties, occupational and release limits and nomenclature of MDI and TDI, and on their analysis.

Gilbert International Ltd operates the Scientific Office of the International Isocyanate Institute. The Institute is wholly dedicated to safety, health and environmental issues related to MDI and TDI. Mediocre as an overview, good on development

When the casual reader buys a Vanguard book, it's for a general history -- some notes on development, some notes on deployment, some notes on upgrades and color schemes through the life of the vehicle, some notes on combat history, a short assessment of the vehicle's performance, and finally, if there's any space left over, a "where are they now" section for current service or where to find them in museums.

This book, which masquerades as an overview, is remarkably shallow on everything but development. In my opinion, that's a rather odd decision to make regarding a small folio-style overview with some color paintings in the middle of in-action vehicles. Most modelers will not be interested in knowing that on so-and-so a date, this experimental hull was modified in this-or-that way. The color plates are nice but there's little on the vehicle's usage to tie them into the text.

It doesn't help that the text is very dryly written.

Many of the other Osprey Vanguard books do a much better job at providing a good overview of the vehicles they cover, particularly the titles written by Zaloga. I'd pass on this one unless you are primarliy interested in the development of the vehicle.

Great book for modelers!

This book is an invaluable source of information for plastic modelers building the German Tiger II.Color illustrations together with cutaway drawings provide accurate details of the interior layout of the tank.For future reference to the author, the addition of RAL numbers of paint colors as indexed to the colors in the illustrations in the book would be a possible improvement to be considered on this work.

A TII book friendly to your pocket

This book is a small gem. Reference on this tank is as complete as can be packed in 48 pages. Not only development history is included, but also are packed gun tables, direct comparisons to opposite tanks, and unit history with order of battle. Unless you plan to buy Jentz and Hillary more complete books, this is a must for the modeller and historian!

LESLIE C. ALLEN is Professor of Old Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary. Formerly he was Lecturer in Hebrew, Aramaic & Judaism at London Bible College, where he has taught since 1960. I have obsessively read all 8 of the Heku books in a little over a month's time. Although I do a lot of leisure reading, I am not often absorbed in the book. This series has had me completely entranced from beginning to end. Although all the books are quite long, there is none of the hated & tedious lengthy descriptions that you will find in the majority of other novels. The series was originally meant to be ended with book #7, but gladly it did not, as book #8 was the best so far, in my opinion! If there were another 20 in the series, I would happily read every one, I enjoy them so much. I very highly suggest them!

Book 4

Book 4 is when you get into the nitty gritty of the Equites faction. It's the start of the larger books of the heku series and well worth it! I've read them all twice and every time I find new things to marvel at. Seems Emily and Chevalier start to get more comfortable with each other, so there's less violence between the two and more true-life interaction. These characters have become real to me and as I read its so easy to lose myself in this world. Ahhhh to have Chevalier's money.

I can honestly say that I've not been able to put this series down. I have read all 9 books within 2 weeks. I eat, breathe, sleep the lives of Emily, Chevalier and the rest of the heku. You will not be disappointed in this book or any of the others in the series. Be ready for late nights reading by a booklight until your eyes are falling shut!
